Great Gift

There is nothing as special as bringing happiness as a gift to a friend. And when suresh returned from korea, he did present me a korean traditional 'Mask' key chain. Its nice and always good to carry along.
'Mask' (also called as t'al in korean language) is a tradition used for drama dance called t'alch'um. Their shapes are grotesque and greatly exaggerated, and their colors are deep and bright. This is because t'alch'um, the mask dance drama, was usually performed at night in the light from wood fires. Mask less powerful in expression and color would have failed to deliver the themes of the drama. Religious masks and masks for daytime performances were much less vivid.
However, from prehistoric age, t'al was used in warfare for soldiers & horses, for entertainment dance and drama to embody the character in drama and admit right expressions. For koreans, it has always been a symbol and belief of happiness. To respect their tradition and belief, i am lucky to carry one with me.
Thanks to suresh!!
