Perceptions on Receptions..

Recently, my friend made a forward of this below story, but then this was a famous decription for us when i was providing consultations to industries for not to ignore any issues for granted..

Thatz why i am sometimes skeptic about loose ends of any issues.. Unlucky iam trained to be so, so might be difficult for many to catch along..hehe.. anyway, pick your time to read it..

Vanilla Ice Cream that puzzled General motors!!!!

An Interesting Story -Never underestimate your Clients' Complaint, no matter how funny it might seem! This is a real story that happened between the customer of General Motors and its Customer-Care Executive. Pls read on..... A complaint was received by the Pontiac Division of General Motors:'This is the second time I have written to you, and I don't blame you for not answering me, because I sounded crazy, but it is a fact that we have a tradition in our family of Ice-Cream for dessert after dinner each night, but the kind of ice cream varies so, every night, after we've eaten, the whole family votes on which kind of ice cream we should have and I drive down to the store to get it. It's also a fact that I recently purchased a new Pontiac and since then my trips to the store have created a problem.....

You see, every time I buy a vanilla ice-cream, when I start back from the store my car won't start. If I get any other kind of ice cream, the car starts just fine. I want you to know I'm serious about this question, no matter how silly it sounds "What is there about a Pontiac that makes it not start when I get vanilla ice cream, and easy to start whenever I get any other kind?" The Pontiac President was understandably skeptical about the letter, but sent an Engineer to check it out anyway. The latter was surprised to be greeted by a successful, obviously well educated man in a fine neighborhood. He had arranged to meet the man just after dinner time, so the two hopped into the car and drove to the ice cream store. It was vanilla ice cream that night and, sure enough, after they came back to the car, it wouldn't start. The Engineer returned for three more nights. The first night, they got chocolate. The car started. The second night, he got strawberry. The car started. The third night he ordered vanilla. The car failed to start.

Now the engineer, being a logical man, refused to believe that this man's car was allergic to vanilla ice cream. He arranged, therefore, to continue his visits for as long as it took to solve the problem. And toward this end he began to take notes: He jotted down all sorts of data: time of day, type of gas uses, time to drive back and forth etc. In a short time, he had a clue: the man took less time to buy vanilla than any other flavor. Why? The answer was in the layout of the store. Vanilla, being the most popular flavor, was in a separate case at the front of the store for quick pickup. All the other flavors were kept in the back of the store at a different counter where it took considerably longer to check out the flavor. Now, the question for the Engineer was why the car wouldn't start when it took less time. Eureka - Time was now the problem - not the vanilla ice cream!!!! The engineer quickly came up with the answer: "vapor lock". It was happening every night; but the extra time taken to get the other flavors allowed the engine to cool down sufficiently to start. When the man got vanilla, the engine was still too hot for the vapor lock to dissipate.

Even crazy looking problems are sometimes real and all problems seem to be simple only when we find the solution, with cool thinking.

Don't just say it is " IMPOSSIBLE" without putting a sincere effort.... Observe the word "IMPOSSIBLE" carefully... . Looking closer you will see, "I'M POSSIBLE"...What really matters is your attitude and your perception.

She is somebody with a very strong character, a person with simple and realistic ambitions, a girl who can accomodate and take in facts of life.

Fun at MacRitchie

World getting shrunk at rapid speed. If iam not wrong 2 weeks back finally i met sunand (a friend who i met in New Delhi) at his home, buddy boy arranged a grand party, were me and his friends ended up fully drunk ;-) One was kumanan, his house-mate; and i meet him for the first time. Later i realized, he is an crescentian and he realized, im an campionite, and he said my friend Riaz is around singapore on some project.
Riaz is my school mate and who lost contact 8 years back. After falling on phone, we decided to meet up. So i planned something fun, and planned for boat rowing and trekking. Not fun, if we are too alone, so made a team, Suan Hwee, Ram, Riaz and Me gathered at MacRitchie Reservior.
I first decided to row boat and then start with the trekking excerise. Ram, i catch up with him out for the 1st time again, he is a professional and a friend & collegue to Satheesh & Suresh, and thatz how i know him. Ram, not being familiar with swimming and 'fear of Jal', so was reluctant to fetch his own boat. So we decided to make him a photographer, while Suan caught his own boat, and riaz & me chose a double-seater. Suan really enjoyed his time into the reservior, of course, most of the time, chasing the malysian girl..hehe.. Riaz too did enjoy his adventure to row for the 1st time. Guys enjoyed it, however, i was tired, bcoz to let riaz feel motivated, i had to really row the boat myself..haha..
The hungry boy Ram, wanted to soon make up for the breakfast, so we winded up rowing and started to trek. We first chose to walk along the prunus walk along the reservior side and later entered the forest, and fun talk, photography and enjoyed the time. Riaz a photo-fonder troubled ram and suan all the ways, by frequent stopping for photographs.
That was good to make a day with my friends and it was a kind of stress-off the brains for the day; tired and hungry we rushed a cab to north point for a good food and later dispersed tired to home. However, after a shower, i rushed back to office that evening... don't know why i have become like this....
Anyway, when get the snaps and the time, i would post the pictures in orkut. Got time, then may browse through the photo ablum..
Happy to meet my friends!!

Clouds of our thoughts

Imagine you are at an Airport. While you're waiting for your flight, you notice a kiosk selling cookies. You buy a box, put them in your travelling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally, you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into the travelling bag and pull out the box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely. He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You're more than a little surprised at this.
Actually, you're at a loss for words. Not only does he take one cookie, but also he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one. Now, what's your immediate impression of this guy... Crazy? Greedy? He's got some nerve? Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man to your associates back at the office? Meanwhile, you both continue eating the cookies until there's just one left. To your surprise, the man reaches over and takes it. But then he does something unexpected. He breaks it in half, and gives half to you. After he's finished with his half he gets up, and without a word, he leaves. You think to yourself, "Did this really happen?"
You're left sitting there dumbfounded and still hungry. So you go back to the kiosk and buy another box of cookies. You then return to your seat and begin opening your new box of cookies, but when you glance down into your travel bag, sitting there you realize in your bag is your original box of cookies, still unopened. Only then do you realize that when you reached down earlier, you had reached into the other man's bag, and grabbed his box of cookies by mistake. Now what do you think of the man? Generous? Tolerant? You've just experienced a profound paradigm shift. You're seeing things from a new point of view. Is it time to change your point of view?
Moral: Many a times, we are clouded by our own instincts and predispositions. These hamper our relationship with our peers, subordinates and superiors. Try to be non-judgmental and look beyond the obvious.

Haha.. this august, i am definite to agree there was vacation holiday for ghosts..
To share something, i have a peculiar feeling from last 3 years, very much odd from other... on a particular month, august, i feel like hiding myself into some nice cave... juz like Lord Shiva tried to do when Mr Saniswaran was even chancing him.. keke..

Ooooh llaaaammmaa!! Juz tired of everything.. all i have to think is.. Is there any more thing still left out.. :(

Heavy troubles at work inspite of that being my home, heavy money drain, lost my living place, forgot my working visa at boat house, permenant break off, super heavy taxi bills, mom unwell, stuburn decisions from some sides, some friends unhappy with me, couldnt manage myself to make up for a very very very important appointment, super-dopper telephone bills, couldnt be able to present myself for a special invite, cornored for critical decisions, people just took me for granted, lost some of my things, dripping support from some sides, weak support from other sides, super jump for longer travels, still didnt buy some things for 2 very very special people who asked for somethings to me for the 1st time, little unorganized, sandwiched between two bosses, troubles, troubles & troubles and nothing less than this..

Anyway its life.. and we should be able to catch up.. and i guess i should plan for a nicer rythm and make it work :) Do you think september is gonna make it happen.. hehe.. Letz look ahead with hope and optimism.. ;-)

Contentment

I was the first one to plan to leave office on friday evening, somehow after a big rush, i was the last one to leave and managed to reach home for a shower and again.. Cab ..to reach Changi Village before 9PM. It was some special day and in Sri Ramar Temple, it was aaradhani for "Sri Ragavendra". The last time i visited the temple was a few months back and somehow i felt pleasant being there again.
Maintained some quietness and managed to recollect some slogas and recited quieted infront of God. However, on special occassion, somebody will arrange to provide food and i should admit its real good taste and hygyine of course.
I always have a strong feeling, there is great level of some contentment and a kind of satisfaction or fulfilment when i take food /prashadham from temple. This kind of feeling of some peacefulness or silent happiness, i even don't have when take food at the best of the restraunts around here. Some peculiar difference i come across and i juz wonder about it.. anyway i continue to enjoy this way!!

Today is Raksha Bandhan!!

Raksha bandham.. a festival and celebration as grand a sis to a brother. This is an north-indian celebration and now a grand national celebration (may be due to appreciation of better half of other cultures...or may be due to fashion). Anyway, its a nice festival to encourage better relations with love and care between brothers and sisters. The sister normally ties a band (colourful and nice appeals) to brothers hand and gives him special sweets and wishes a good life to him. Is it only so much..Oosh..how can you expect girls to do wonders to you without returns.. haha.. and after the tieing of band, the brother wishes the sister too and gives a lot of money and a lots and lots of gifts.. and its happiness giving.. because its love.
And this is what my sister had to tell me for today:
"Viju,
No matter how far I am,
You are with me in my thoughts..
And memories of the fun times we have shared, the laughter and smiles, are in my heart.
Happy raksha bandhan!!"
So cute and a big hug to my sis. Iam very thankful for her wishes.
Just now i wonder, what should i gift her... :)

Learning from uncle

My office has an uncle, very ethusiastic, polite and humble. He does carpentry works, drives to customers for deliveries, helps in driving to other places, makes jigs & fixtures for me and makes metal or fibre casings for me. Whatever we say him, he makes a miracle about his commitment and unexpected delivery speed.

Last week, i just told him i need a white board and gave him the size, he worked on sunday, purchased a board, alterned them as like what things i wanted, hung it in my place like how i wanted and even placed the duster. He made a supprise monday for me and iam happy to use my board and by now, its already full of notes.

The commitment and involvement with great speed is highly appreciated and is what we need to learn.

To let you know him, he is a 'Taichi' master, and to your supprise he is aged 72 years and does great work at everything. To supprise you more, he the father of my super-boss, he owns a $10 million home and is a multi-millionaire..

Strong character is the foundation of richness...Juz thought to share with you all..

Understanding astrology to know wife or wifes :)

Its always interesting to learn new things. And i always facinate to know new stuffs. And lucky today i had a chance to learn some fundas of astrological table. There are two table with 12 boxes each, RASI and NAVAMSAM.
There are 12 rasi, and starting from top left and in clockwise direction:
(1) Meenam
(2) Mesham
(3) Rishbam
(4) Mithunam
(5) Kadakam
(6) Simham
(7) Kanni
(8) Thulam
(9) Viruchigam
(10) Dhanusu
(11) Makaram
(12) Kumbam
The nine planets takes position among these houses (boxes /rasi). So there are nine (9) planets and a 10th element called 'lagnam', which is the reference point.
From lagnam, in clockwise, we can count in clockwise the places.
Just to brief:
1st place is for artist skills and personnel ability, personality and beauty.
2nd place i think power, should refer again
3rd place refers to the understanding of relations like brother, sister and characteristics
4th place refers to education and mother
5th place for children
6th place dun know yet
7th place is for life partner
And every planet looking at its 7th position has large effect..
Also there are factors of house ownership. Each box can have only 1 owner and they are defined. However i could not put it here now.
Well, to my supprise, my 'lagnam' is in venus and venus is looking at Dhanusu in 7th place, means i gonna have a very pretty wife..... woooohhhaaaaaaaa....

So much conservative..

Ranju happened to talk with me this morning. I understand she had be waiting long to make a nice occassion with suresh. This fellow among his occupiedness somehow forgetting to call this girl and talk with her. He has started to disappointment girls, this is going to be very dangerous to get back hammered.. keke..
I juz wish she becomes very understanding that he had to give more time for his closer and much awaiting circles and would definitely return to his steady-state by this evening, probably after he sees vibhu.
I know you both are going to make it a great sunday and have fun.

superstar confidence!!

Somehow superstar(kto7) is so much confident on girls and strongly believes they hav the largest love for the men they love. All the sweet talking and big promises a women makes is very much temperory and on a large scale for some self-fish personal reason.
And when they decided to change for something stupid, you wont know that they can find a 1000 excuses and they would stand to justify all those stupid 1000 excuses as strong reasons.
Guys never released one thing, girls find 100 reasons to break-off, i have not seen any 1 single girl, who can give 1 simple reason, to make a true bond and continue to live a good pattern of life.
Anyway, he has possed a challenge and has asked me to record his confidence on a girl.
Well, i would just wait and see what should be happening after 2 and 1/2 years. If he was right, i should be the happiest person, for he got to settle with a most appropriate and true love, and if he was wrong in his belief, i have to say juz 1thing, "Who's next.." ...keke..
G' luck.

Great Gift

There is nothing as special as bringing happiness as a gift to a friend. And when suresh returned from korea, he did present me a korean traditional 'Mask' key chain. Its nice and always good to carry along.
'Mask' (also called as t'al in korean language) is a tradition used for drama dance called t'alch'um. Their shapes are grotesque and greatly exaggerated, and their colors are deep and bright. This is because t'alch'um, the mask dance drama, was usually performed at night in the light from wood fires. Mask less powerful in expression and color would have failed to deliver the themes of the drama. Religious masks and masks for daytime performances were much less vivid.
However, from prehistoric age, t'al was used in warfare for soldiers & horses, for entertainment dance and drama to embody the character in drama and admit right expressions. For koreans, it has always been a symbol and belief of happiness. To respect their tradition and belief, i am lucky to carry one with me.
Thanks to suresh!!

Decisions Tough!!

Somehow i had good experience in interviewing people. One nice thing i wish to share is, i had a chance to audit and question Mahesh Munjal, chairman, Hero Group. This is not special because i sat against his table, but because i realized the Vice-president (R&D), J P Sharma, convenienced and did convencingly say "You are invited to audit my chairman". It did take few months for me to convence him on my ability and finally a 3 day audit of the entire plant did impress him. Thanks to God for giving me good expriences.
When days grew, had expriences of recruiting people and even here in my office, had been interviewing variety of characters. HR is also a nice job..hehe.. Here, I had experience of accepting resignations also..
But this wednesday, things were different and something i had never done before. After analysis, patient observation, everybody passed the ball to me. I didnt choose to take a decision for a simple reason, the guy is my collegue's assistant. However, my collegue always consulted me, i have also shared proper opinions and in rightous aspects. For on wednesday, he had been out of office for some reasons and finally i had to choose, whether to sack his assistant or to retain him. Unfortunately, this guy was supposed to get his PR next week. I still holded the cancellation process. Several times, i had been councilling this guy that his attitude should be progressive and should have a strong character. He is like a child and not very realistic. Unwilling to learn, though i observed his learning curve was good. People have there own reasons for exploiting any opportunities. But i always feel, when it comes to career, it should be the only focus and only that can push us ahead in life.
I called upon 'termination' on him. I councilled him for the last time for about half-an-hour. I asked him to choose a career and line of light-weight according to him. I pray God and i wish he finds his new job. I had one confidence, he wont be sent to his home country, definitely singapore will keep him here, as he is supposed to stay here for minimum 3 years.
When my boss asked me, "what's your final decision? I dont interfere, its your final choice..". I said to him, i feel bad to choose to terminate, but had to. I had no choice, because i had to consider my collegue's sentiments too.. It was a grim day.. Of course, my friend also didnt choose to be aggressive, he was even more patient.
Then my boss told me, many people are good, but they might not be useful in organization's perspective. So you shouldn't feel bad.
Lesson for the guy:
1. Dont take people for granted and don't slug around the responsibility.
2. Modern management strategy, Decisions are immediate, and manytimes decisions are from unexpected people.
Lesson for me:
1. To be a manager is different and to be a friend is different. I should learn to demargate my line with clarrity.
2. To be a manager and better leader, we should keep less emotions and improved management guidelines in perspective of the objectives. Have to be a strong character and swift in action.
3. Important.. keke..
Always somebody is judged by somebody..
An engineer by his manager..
A manager by his CEO..
A CEO by his chairman..
A chairman by the market..
So doesn't mean i can pass my time leisurely in a coffee shop. I dun mean that work with fear. Definitely nope. It's juz with heart and sincerity with whatever we do. Thatz it..
"Survival of the fittest".. this is the criteria in today's trend. No choice, either we self-tune or just be prepared to sometime become a 'chicken chop'.
There is a saying..
"When we see a beautiful waterfall..
God will definitely plan to bring you to it.. When so, God will definitely bring you through it.."
Anyway, i had been on OFF for yesterday, let me not slug around, iam pushing off to my desk.. Got something to be done.

SIM SAT TAN

When it comes to saturday, its always wonderful to breathe in fresh and make a step ahead into SIM (Singapore Institute of Management). The first thing we do is either take a late breakfast or an early lunch as what my dear friend says... and after having our stomach feel a lil heavy...wud juz wait to hunt a free coffee along the corridors and when we learn wouldnt...we honesty approach the vending machine and make a wet throat and start the day with fun of study and running through the books... and there has always been a great incidences that as days to come...can share about..

Great days...and great days are made!!
